Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using CareerID ("Service", "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by CareerID ("we", "us", "our").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use CareerID. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised access to your account.

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the professional stories, resume data, and other content you upload or create on CareerID ("User Content"). By submitting User Content you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display it solely to provide the Service to you.

You agree not to upload content that is false, defamatory, infringing, or unlawful. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

5. AI Processing

CareerID uses artificial intelligence — including Anthropic Claude and OpenAI — to help you structure stories, generate resumes, and prepare for interviews. AI-generated output is provided for assistance only. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all output before sharing it with employers or third parties.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Misrepresent your identity or professional history
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute other users' content without consent
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or disrupt the Service
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Share access to your account with other people

7. Shared Profile Links (ProfileViews)

CareerID allows you to generate shareable ProfileView links (e.g. my.careerid.io/you/abc12345) that you can send to employers. You control which stories and information appear in each ProfileView. We do not share your profile with any employer without a link you have generated and sent yourself.

8. Intellectual Property

The CareerID platform, its design, and all software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. These terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you. "CareerID" and associated marks are our trademarks.

9. Subscription and Payment

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscription fees are charged in advance on a recurring basis. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods unless required by law.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. On deletion we will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareerID shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any decisions made by employers based on your profile or generated documents.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice in the app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CareerID is incorporated. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
